October Update

Treeti team at IVETS delegation and conference in Indonesia

The team at Treeti started October with a bang hosting the opening event for OBM with the Digital Expo, which was a big success.  This remained the theme for all of OBM with Treeti delivering on over 45 Digital workshops and interactive panel events.
On the 2nd October I travelled to Indonesia with Austrade and Study NT for the IVETS delegation and conference in Lombok and Jakarta.  The conference was well worth our time and the opportunity to network with the delegation was invaluable.  We spent quality time with Hon Selena Uibo, Member for Arnhem and NT organisations such as Top End Training (a division of GTNT), Alana Kay College, Charles Darwin University, Eagle Training Services, Site Skills Group, Department of Education RTO’s and delegation organizers DTBI.  It is very exciting that there has been historic signing and upcoming ratification of Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA).  Similar to a Free Trade Agreement this will open the doors for business leaders to place greater attention on opportunities in Trade and Investment and strengthened relationships between the two countries. Very timely visit to Indonesia to continue to build relationships and networks there for future business opportunities.
As we hurtle towards the end of the year our fabulous Treeti Team has been busy delivering services to NT businesses such as infrastructure for growth with private clients, empowering entrepreneurs through our EFS Program, building strong export foundations with our Austrade partner through Tradestart  and closing the gap between business and the digital revolution for the ASBAS program.

ASBAS - Australian Small Business Advisory Services

Mark Faulkner explaining the Tradstart program

Whilst you'd expect our eye to be on the OBM ball this past month, the ASBAS Digital Solutions program has grown once again! We welcome new advisors Nyree Slatter, Melissa Arthus, Aaron McMahon, and Sallianne Thompson to the stable of digital advisors, and are currently in the process of onboarding more new advisors specifically in the field of Cyber-security.
Speaking of Cyber-security, we are currently working alongside the Australian Industry & Defence Network NT (AIDNNT), Charles Darwin University and the Australian Cyber Security Centre to form a pathway for Territory small to medium enterprises to address their cyber-security vulnerabilities with subsidised assessments and advisory consultations which then provide a road forward towards accreditation for defence subcontracting, working with government contracts and being ready for Cyber Security Insurance compliance. This program is expected to be available from January 2020.
If you would like to find out more about how your business can benefit from the program, head to www.asbasnt-treeti.com.au and check it out.

october business month 2019

With some 43 events hosted in Darwin, Alice Springs & Katherine in partnership with local businesses, ASBAS Digital Solutions Advisors and big names like Google and Facebook, October Business Month was a huge event for the whole team at Treeti.

Starting out with the NT Digital Expo, which Darwin embraced with an enthusiasm beyond our expectations, this was always going to be a big month. However, the enthusiasm across the Territory never waned and we constantly had to upgrade venues and capacity to accommodate sell-out workshops. Having assisted many other businesses with their events, it was a case of working in territory we knew well.

From the initial concept for the Expo and OBM program early in 2019 from Dante through to the execution by the whole Treeti team and management, October Business Month was a big success that we plan to replicate in 2020. Watch this space!

We are very proud to call RMI Security our client of the month.  As the owner, Craig Spencer takes great pride in his reputation as a well-known NT Security company highly regarded for great Customer Service.  Providing professional security services to Mindel Markets, Darwin Festival and other Darwin Major Events.

Treeti supported RMI to write and subsequently win the tender for Tropical Light Exhibition with Bruce Munroe.  Treeti was then able run a group recruitment campaign to interview and hire over 30 security guards and mobilize them ready for the start of the event. Reaching South

The NT Government recently hosted the “Reaching South – to the Territory” – event in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China lead by Chief Minister Michael Gunner, showcasing the Northern Territory to business and industry representatives, presenting a unique opportunity for delegates to connect with key business people and decision makers in the region.

Run in partnership with the Darwin Major Business group with around 50 Territory businesses and Industry Association representatives, the aim of the event was to match Northern Territory businesses with counterparts and potential partners from China including round tables and marketing promotion, with a highlight on agribusiness, tourism, energy and minerals, education and training, tropical health and research, transport freight and logistics.

On the 24th of October I was lucky enough to join in Reaching South in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. I was impressed firstly by the amount of NT companies that had gathered for the initial briefing in the Shangri-La Hotel and also by the interaction between NT companies and their Chinese counter-parts. The finale of the first day was a dinner held by the NT government which was very well attended by all involved and capped off a great day for all. The next couple of days were industry-related events and from my perspective were very well attended and poignant to the companies. These days showed many opportunities for cooperation’s and market expansion. In the end I believe the trip was a huge success and feel that many new opportunities will grow from this time spent in China.

Our Head of Digital, Dante St James is traveling with Facebook Australia to the drought-stricken western NSW towns of Warren and Coonamble in the coming week in support of the #buyfromthebush campaign. Started by Warren NSW local, Grace Brennan, the movement has attracted the support of Facebook & Instagram, whose platform has hosted the movement from its beginnings in Warren to the driver of very real and substantial economic activity to these regions that have lost much of their revenue due to the long-term dry conditions.

Dante will be representing Facebook's Community Trainer Network and leading local home-grown businesses through taking their products online, reaching new customers and using a range of free mobile apps in conjunction with Facebook & Instagram.

We're also thrilled to announce that Treeti's association with Facebook Australia, through Dante, has been renewed for 2020. We look forward to bringing more digital marketing insights and upskilling opportunities to our community this coming year.
